June Squibb plays the role of Eleanor, a troublemaking and sassy 94-year old woman who moves back to New York to live with her family after her best friend passes away. Seeking companionship, Eleanor happens upon a trauma survivors group at a Jewish Center where she befriends a student journalist who takes a great interest in her life story, even though it’s a lie. ELEANOR THE GREAT is Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut, which she navigates with plenty of humor and warmth, boasted by an all-time performance from Squibb. Also starring Erin Kellyman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
