Erika Lorraine Milam is an historian of science at Princeton University. She writes about the search to understand what it means to be human in a scientific world and the dynamics of public conversations about science. Ever since her stepdad had no idea what to do with his new, teenage daughter—and so introduced her to the classic films of his youth—she has also loved going to the movies.
